“Hi Charlie, Thanks for the voice message to mum, she was rapt. I played it to her 3 times because she got so much enjoyment from listening to it.

She had a smile on her face each time and was a bit sad that she hadn’t said goodbye in person. I told her I’d let you know how much that message meant to her.

Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put in with Muriel, you’re a gem and a genuinely great worker in a tough industry.”

“We A & A Washington would like to share our very positive experience at Waverley Valley Aged Care – We love it here.

Recently on the ABC’s 4 Corners program the subject of Aged Care was the focus of attention. The program stimulated much discussion on media services all over the country.Obviously if there are service failings in the Aged care sector then urgent reforms are required where providers are falling short in regard to aged care standards.
The thought of a resident being mistreated in some  way is abhorrent in the twilight of a life well lived and full of love for family and loved ones.
Waverley Valley Aged Care offers residents an extremely high level of care whilst adhering to very strict guidelines set by the aged care industry.
From an attractive building with well manicured lawns and outside gardens well adorned with native schrubs and colourful flower beds.
The love and care of residents is so evident in many ways.
Food services with choices offered right across the variety of menu’s set by the award winning chef.
Leisure and lifestyle programs carefully designed to cater for individual needs if necessary.
A management team determined to deliver good staffing outcomes where staff /resident ratios are closely monitored to achieve effective results.
In so many ways Waverley Valley Aged Care is way ahead of the curve and is extremely capable of maintaining its high standards moving into the future.
Waverley Valley Aged Care is maintaining standards that, not any 4 Corners program could ever criticize .”

“My wife, Alison has been a resident for six months and her level of care is outstanding. The staff at Waverley Valley Aged Care are so caring and are always smiling which indicates to me that they enjoy their work.

Over the recent Christmas period, I attended all of the celebrations scheduled by the lifestyle department and the excellent meals from the well-appointed kitchen. The food was just so well presented and the staff made attending these special days just a joy. My wife Alison enjoyed herself immensely. Apart from these special days life for the two of us at WVAC is so relaxing and from day one we have been made very welcome by management and care staff alike.

Entering and aged care facility and making decisions for your loved one is quite stressful and it comes at a time when your youthful energy has deserted you but Alison and I have been treated with respect and genuine concern from the outset and I sincerely thank the Admissions Manager and all care staff in providing Alison with a home to enjoy for the ensuing days ahead.”

“My mother was terrified of ending up in a nursing home she as all that she could do to avoid it.  Sadly with her dementia, it meant for her safety reasons she could no longer stay in her own home.  She tried one place where she was desperately unhappy and indeed “escaped” from the facility and continually wanted to go home. I had to find a facility where she could be happy.

My initial contact was very welcoming and professional. The next day I moved my mother. She has been in Room 106 The Grampians for a week and what a transformation! My mum considers it the home she has told me and your Lifestyle Coordinator “I’m not leaving.”  This is a credit to the staff of the unit and everyone else. From the maintenance staff who put on the walls her beloved father’s paintings to the nurses, carers and the lovely meals prepared by the chefs. I cannot thank you all enough.

My sisters did not believe me when I told them that mum was finally happy.”

“I would like to pass on my thanks to the staff for the ease and kindness they have given my husband.”

I would like to compliment all the staff on their dedication to the residents in their care. I would like to single our two staff for a special mention:

Laurel – for her incredible patience and the manner in which she looks after the residents in her care under very trying circumstances. She has some of the most difficult residents in her care but always carries out her responsibilities with a smile and total dedication.

Kelley – For the work that she does in controlling a very difficult area of the home. She is very caring and affectionate to the residents and families. She organises the area in an exemplary manner especially considering staff numbers and the problems of some very difficult residents.

“Hi Annette, Can’t recommend WVAC enough.

Mum & I have put together the following testimonial it is the absolute least we could do, to say thank you for all the love and care WVAC provide for our wonderful Dad/husband

My father is 81 years old & suffers from Parkinson’s disease, cancer, Dementia & heart problems so when his health deteriorated & he was no longer able to be cared for at home we needed to find a facility with the highest level of care, attention & expertise.

We originally admitted dad into respite with WVAC as a trial for 2 weeks & given our satisfaction he has been in permanent care ever since.

I, together with all my family members consider every aspect of the facility to be of very high standard.

My mother’s visit dad every day & as a trained nurse is very happy with the safety & the duty of care & feels like he’s treated like a member of the family at WVAC.

The facilities are modern, well maintained, clean & tidy.

Rooms are of good size, all with private bathroom facilities.  Shared areas e.g dining/lounge rooms are large, spacious, light, bright & well decorated.

Lovely garden areas with bbq facilities & a multi purpose room which can be used for private functions at no cost e.g residence birthday parties & guests are welcome.

The meals are of good size & quality, very well presented & patients are given choice of 2 meal for both lunch & dinner.

The staff are very kind & friendly to residence, family & friends alike. You always feel welcome at WVAC.

If you do have a complaint, they act on resolving the issue immediately.

Can’t compliment the lifestyle team enough. They are so attentive & encouraging of residence participation with activity & stimulate the residence with activities suitable to their level of mental & physical ability.

Regular outside entertainers are bought into the facility for the residence enjoyment. Also lucky to have a male on the lifestyle team who integrates so well with the male residence running special men’s activity groups.

Church services for multiple denominations are catered for on a monthly basis.

Medical team does a wonderful job lead by a very very approachable & capable doctor. Medication is always given on time in line with residence requirements.

There’s a lovely cafe facility on site which creates a wonderful bright social atmosphere for residence, family & friends to gather.

We’re very happy with our choice of homes for our wonderful father.”

Having to place my father in aged care was a daunting task and one I never thought I’d have to experience, fortunately the staff at Waverley Valley aged care have made the 2 week respite period for my father a very supportive one.

Actually the care my father has received has been a godsend for myself and others in my family.  Dad has, although missing mum and the normal routine of home, settled in reasonably quickly.  He enjoyed the meals provided and has been very happy with the support he has received.

The Client Liaison Counsellor has been a great support to me personally, spending time with me listening to my concerns about the whole ordeal and making this difficult time manageable.

I would happily recommend Waverley Valley Aged Care.”
